I have changed the structure of the users table (for security),but CCS still uses the old field names in the generated code.

Make sure you refresh the connection (so ccs knows the latest - right click and refresh) and go into the settings tab of the project (right click)and select the correct field names for the security tab

This may also be programming language specific. Certain technologies like Java and .NET may require that you rebuild the whole project, for example by pressing F9 in CCS. It is always good to press F9 in such case anyway.
Also make sure that you have not modified the related code in Common files.

I have done F9,refreshed connection, and changed the field names in the settings. Still get a SQL error because it's using the old field names.

I haven't seen such issue before. Since these settings were changed in CCS then CCS cannot know what the old settings were, except if you modified some parts of Common.php in the past and now CCS cannot regenerate the security-specific sections.
If you didn't append any custom code to Common.php then you can delete it completely and then CCS will regenerate it. Otherwise delete everything except the custom code that you appended.
There is also a chance that your server is somehow caching the old program.
You can also compare Common.php in your project folder to the one on the server, to see if the one in the project folder was published at all.
I also recommend submitting such issues to our support and attach your Common.php file, and .ccs as well if possible (.ccs contains global project settings like the security setup.
