 DatePicker Error

I am getting the following error after creating datpicker popup for a date field. "DatePickerControl.Value is not an Object"
I checked the HTML, the script was created with new object definitions. I thought it might be the datpicker.js but the date picker works in other web pages create in earlier in the same application. Any help or guidance appricated.
