Hi there,

I connect Access database to a sql server back end database. All I did was link tables to sql server. When I run a query using the criteria Like "*name*" I dont get any data back, but if I run the query without the criteria Like "*name*" I get all the data.

can you please help me to come out with a solution?

Thank you so much

Louis,

Could you explain this a bit better...

Also, post the sql you're using in both instances.

Do you mean that when you run the query in MS Access you don't get any records but when you run the query in MS SQL Server you do????

A couple of questions I have:

Are you using pass through queries or straight Access Queries?
What Version of Access and SQL server are you using?

Try '%name%'
