I am unable to update or add to a MS Access 97 database using cold fusion 4.5. I get a syntax error that does not expain the problem. The records display properly. Pages generated by application builder. One table used, one autonumber field (key), 10 text fields and 1 text area or memo field in record.

The message:

The error has occured :
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error in UPDATE statement.

Anyone have this problem?

Mike

Try debugging the SQL to see how it looks like. See http://docs.codecharge.com/studio/html/ProgrammingTechn...yingOutput.html

Also try turning on debug for CF and grab the sql statement and paste it into MS access and run it. That will usually give you more info on why the statement is bad
