I am developing an application in vb.net and I would like to have 2 applications that are almost identical running on the server. One would be for a demo/development and the other would be for the production application.

The problem comes with the virtual directory setup. When I publish to the server into the root folder (actually a subfolder on the site that is set up as a sub domain), it works fine. If I try to publish to a subfolder, it will not work. I will need to keep the common files, web.config, etc separate for each application.

Does anyone have any good ideas on how this can be accomplished?

Thanks

Maybe You can setup each of the 2 directories as a separate Virtual Server. Thus you can run both applications in separate folders, but each one would be a separate Website in a way.

I was thinking along the same lines, but was hoping there would be an easier way. I will need contact the hosting service and see if it is possible to set something up this way.

Thanks for the response.
