Using VB.Net

I need to get the key of the record that a user adds. It's a help desk application and I want to return the KEY to the user as their reference number for the work order they submit. Any thoughts appreciated!

Depending on your DB, you need to retrieve it before you insert and not allow it to be automatically generated. There were lots of tutorials written on the old website on different ways to do this. Stay away from the MAX one if you have more than one user!

which database are you using? Do a search on google using the database name
and "last inserted".
