Does anyone know how to get the file upload component to upload the file to a
database rather than uploading to a file on the server?

The Current version of CodeCharge Studio does not support this.
However, you can login to www.dataobjx.net and download the first issue of CCS Developer Magazine for free.
The first issue demonstrates the technique used for .asp projects and this should be sufficient to get you started - Read the article on the DataObjx Document Management System.
After registering - login and click on the CCS Magazine link - then download the issue and source for the issue.
The technique and code allows you to upload binary files directly to a database field in MS SQL Server.
