Hi all,
Working on a website using CCS that enables uses to submit a bio (ostensibly a resume). Most people cut and paste from a word .doc file, which gets garbled as far as formatting and special characters are concerned - can anyone suggest/had experience with solutions around this? One possible way is a resume upload, which id rather avoid.
Much thanks for help in advance

Ken,
I think you can incorporate WYSIWYG editor into your record form and let users format pasted text if need.
If you decide to use it I can say that HTMLArea is easy in use and incorporate into CCS (http://www.interactivetools.com/products/htmlarea/).

Maybe you've already thought of this but there's another, albeit simple solution is what I've seen done on many sites that accept resumes. Simply post a prominent warning that you cannot cut and paste from Word or other word processing software due to extra markup that will make their resume unreadable. If they can preview their post before submitting, you could require them to preview once before allowing them to hit submit.
Cheers,
Stretchr

Thanks Nicole, stretchr.
I'd love to use HTML area, but unfortunately, it is IE only - can be a bit of a problem in Mozilla (or so it says, according to their site).
In a dream world they wouldnt use Word, but unfortunately, pasting Word stuff is what is needed (read: demanded). Do you know of any other potential solutions?
Much thanks
