I'd like to change a listbox to an edit control at runtime.

Has anyone done this?

Dynamic HTML template is Keyword here.

you have to go into programming much to archive this.

another CCS way could be put the Listbox AND the Textfield on the page and play with the visible runtimeproperty of the listbox textbox and change its datasource.

look in helpfile for visible runtime property.

but you would be faster, and more effective if you think about another way to implement your functionally.

1. is there another way to do the same functionality of the application without change the controltype?

2. is it worth the time to code such a "hack" just to have this functionality?

Use two controls and hide one based on whatever criteria you have that would display one versus the other. You will have to use custom update/insert and take care of storing the value that needs to be updated.
