Where do I need to change the default param of the empldir list so it doesn't pull up the entire list when I open the default.asp file. I'm not able to locate that param in asp or in CCS. Any code examples would be great thanks.

You could also hide the grid if it's empty, as explained in the "Hiding Components" section of the documentation (Help).
