 How to disable (not unchecked) a checkbox based on certain condition

Based on certain value in certain variable, I need to disable a checkbox. Please help.

Go into the html and create a placeholder variable like {DisabledFlag}. Then on the before show event of the form or something reference the Tpl (template object) and your created variable and set the value to "diabled" (or whatever dhtml applies - can't remember) or "" to remained enabled.

Sorry for the sketchy concept, I just used this recently and will post accurate details at work tomorrow.
