We have a need for a large data collection page(s) and ideally would like a multi-dialog form such as can be seen at http://tech.irt.org/articles/js211/index.htm.

But ... that approach works for a empty form and even tho' handcoded, would be OK -- but would not suit a record form brought up in edit mode.
How could/would we fill the Javascript values from a data read? Possible?

Anyone able to provide ideas, code, samples that might make this method achievable by adding to a CCS generated record page?

TIA
Casey

The data would be filled automatically from the database, so there is nothing to do. You would just need to modify the generated HTML by dividing your form into sections (<div>) and add JavaScript code needed to show only one section at a time. If you don't change the basic functionality of the form then it should work as usually, which means that it will show the data in Edit mode like all record forms do.
The example you provided looks complex and possibly does more than you need, maybe even disables some standard functionality of CCS. Take a simpler example like this: http://academ.hvcc.edu/~kantopet/ciss_221/examples/designjs2/ch09/9-10.html. You can view its HTML source to see the JavaScript code.

Thanks for that reference Peter - we'll be able to work on that method quite well.

Tks

There is a good tab interface with lots of flexibility at www.zenutech.com that I am attempting to use to do something similar by adding CCS-generated pages. It may be helpful. Thats' all I can add for now. I am still trying to get CCS pages to work with it.
