Hi,

I'm a beginning programer and I'd really appreciate some help with the following. When I have codecharge build a grid I often get wide tables. I know i can change column width and utilize word wrap but I dont want to. I want to specify the column width and break the last 3 chars off and replace them with "..." Anyone know how I can do this.

Example (if | would mark the column width below):

| this is an example wid... |

Thanks,
Frank

You should use the event BeforeShow of the control you would like to cut. Here you can access the value of the control and reduce its value to the chosen length and add then the 3 dots.

How much cleverness you investigate here to make the cutting look nice is up to you.

Kindly regards,
Michael
