Hi all,
Have a problem with the e-mail event.
I created a editable grid and have attached a "send e-mail" (as an on-click event) event to the add button. This is to send an e-mail to a specified address once a new record has been added with a basic message saying a new record has been added.
The error I keep getting is:
Parse error: parse error in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\site\ContactUs_events.php on line 69
The information on line 69 ia as follows:
$to = $email->user@site.com->GetText();
Once I remove the event the page loads properly.
All relevant details have been filled in on the event properties ie server, body, addressee etc.
Any help for me?

There could be several reasons why this doesn't work.
I recommend that you implement it as described in our main tutorial. http://docs.codecharge.com/studio/html/QuickStart/Creat...SendEmails.html

Did you mean to use:
Global $YourEditableGridName;
$to = $YourEditableGridName->email->GetValue();
It just looks like you have a syntax error.

The code is as generated by CCS. I have not touched a thing, merely copied it and pasted it here ?? should not have any sytax problems ??
Am goint to try the workaround peter suggested.
Just makes me wonder why it is there in the first place if it is an issue to use ??
Anyway the the rest of CCS really is great, so I guess I should not complain. GREAT WORK !!

Hi,
The events are functions, so they may not "see" variables and objects used in the main code. That's why the example shows how to properly intitalize the database connection object within an event.
Secondly, I'm not sure if you used the right event, so that was another reason I pointed the example.

Thanks Peter,
I do understand now.
Point mereley is that the rest of CCS is relatively easy to use and impliment (provided you do not code too much unless you know how to code and I am still learning), that I did expext this function to be as straight forward as the rest.
So again, STUNNING product, keep it up. It can only get better and better and I for certain will keep on using and upgrading.
