G'day to all.

Quick question that I can't seem to readily answer form the tutorials on
help files.

Scenario:
Table C -> Table B -> Table A. C is many to one to B which is many to one to
A. I can of course create the SQL and Shape scripts to gather the
information. That's the easy part.

My question now becomes, how to I easily (relative word) create forms to
manage this data. The Wizard (as near as I can see) only allows me to relate
two tables at a time.

In fact, I now have another quick question. Can CCS2.3 use SQL SP and
Views???

Am I missing something here?

Newbie Richard.

Tx to all...

I'm not sure about all possibilities of the wizards but later you can surely use the query builder to relate more than two table "in depth".

The usability of views will mainly depend on your database system. In most cases you would like to have updatable views.

On the level CCS is dealing with the database system it want notice the difference between table and view.

Hi,

When using Grid Builder you can click on the "Build Query" button () and specify as many tables as you like. For more complex queries you may need to build a simpler grid first, then open the Data Source property dialog (click [...] button in properties) and enter own SQL there. That's where you can also select Stored Procedures.
The Views are usually shown everywhere just like Tables, though not sure if all ODBC/JDBC/JET/other drivers will show them. Also make sure that "Show Views" is selected in the Connection settings, on the Advanced tab.

Thanks guys. Obvisously I misssed a step in the Grid Builder steps. As for
SQL SP and Views, I can view the Views in CC2, but can't seem to review or
edit them. Probably a good thing so as not to ruin them.

It seems that CC2 is quite happy executing SP and using SQL views. Again,
this makes sense as they are just SQL statements.

Thanks again for the directional info.

Thanks Peterr. I did exactly what you suggested and all worked well.
