Hi,
I like the great (and free) functionality, user authentication and skinning
that comes with dotnetnuke (3.0).
But if i need custom development, i prefere to use css.
So what i do, I use my css generated dotnet applications in a Iframe of
dotnetnuke. This works fine, and the productivity of this combination is
realy impressive.
But, It would be so cool if css would integrate a little better. I think a
lot of dotnetnuke users (>10.000) would love to have a rad tool like css.
Better integration does not have to be to difficult. It would need:
- A way to pass the dotnetnuke login name to the css application, (but this
can be done, reading a server variable or the dotnet login cookie)
- A resizable iframe, (not difficult, already available on
www.snowcovered.com )
- Nice but not important, a little bit of cascading style sheet information
passed to css.
I would love to see this combination work together, and would like to
promote this at the dotnetnuke community.
What do other users, or the css staff think of this?
thanks, dikATmusit.nl

Hi there! I could really use some help... we had an intranet coded in asp. I was tasked to change it to use dotnetnuke. My problem is that a lot of the stuff is very customised, so i need to use iframes, but i need the username read from the page for it to work. How would i read the cookie and interpret the info from a normal asp page??? What is the cookie name???
Pls help if you can.

First i have to say sorry for the typing error in the post. It should be
dotnetnuke and ccs instead of css(codechargestudio and not cascading style
sheets.)
I used the dnn module "magic gadget" to pass the username or userid as a url
parameter to the other applications. Works fine. Not realy secure, but good
enough for my intranet.
Regards, dik

I've done a quick hack like this.
It's at http://www.aircreation.fr or www.aircreation.com / catalogue
The main site is DNN and the Catalogue is a CCS iframe

Does anyone know where I can find the 'magic gadget' module. I was on snowcovered.com and couldn't find it.
What I am looking for is a way to pass the DNN username into by .aspx application via the iframe module.
Having trouble figuring it out.
Thanks

Have a look at this stie.
http://www.speerio.net/Default.aspx?tabid=330
It seems the name has changed, and a new dnn3.0 version is coming up. But look if this version has your disered functionality.
NukeHTML: DNN 3.0 compatibility release week of Mar. 28. No date yet on full-featured release with Magic Gadget compatibility
