 Problem when using "mysql_insert_id()" if no persistent connection

Hello,

I use "mysql_insert_id()" to retrieve the latest incremented value in the database.

When using a persistent connection in php (pconnect), then there is no problem. When using a normal connection (connect), it results in error:

Warning: mysql_insert_id(): A link to the server could not be established in...
