Greetings, friends. I am wondering if anyone has ever had any thoughts about or experiences with extending a CCS application to include an option for offline viewing, perhaps by burning to CD.
I have several applications which function more or less as document management systems and I have been asked if I can build in functionality that will query and return a result set (grid) and then save that page along with the links to related documents AND the documents themselves so that the whole mess could be burned to CD and stashed away for off-line viewing. Is possible?
I'm not sure how to begin approaching this problem. My initial thought is this:
1. Copy all the files returned by the query to a temp folder.
2. Modify the links on the grid to point to this temp folder.
3. Trigger a "save as HTML" for the grid page to turn into a static HTML file (which would then be stored in the same temp location as the documents.
4. Use some kind of tool to burn contents of temp folder (HTML page and documents) to CD.
Does anyone have any input regarding this methodology or think of some other way to achieve the same result? I'm very curious as I can think of many applications for this -- if only I can find something that will work!
Many thanks in advance.

Hey, I may have already found the answer in a nifty utility called wget.
Will certainly post results of initial testing -- stay tuned!
