Is it possible for a listbox object - bound to a table-column - to still be able to manually enter a value that is not part of the list? Or does another object provide this mechanism?

I don't think that such object/control exists in HTML. You may try finding some JavaScript implementation of it.

What kind of object/control do you use in CCS itself in the "Project Settings / Security" section?

In the listboxes you can pick one of the list or enter your own value manually.

These are standard Windows combo controls. They are not related to Web applications.
