I am using a database Table (ID, password, etc.) to authenticate the users.

How to I make the user's session expire in 1 hour if there is no user activity?

Hello,
Session expires after awhile anyway. The session life time is set in php.ini and be default equals to 180 min. You can change its duration with PHP ini_set() functoin
