how about a button for quick list of topics posted 'today' or 'this week', resulting in a list of topics with title and the original text of the post
sometimes i like to quickly scan forums to see if I can help out newbies - having this feature would allow me (and more advanced coders looking to help) to see a quick list of topics i might be able to help out on
thanks

to extend that - how about an option to list only those posts to which no one has responded yet.

When you are a registered user you will get after logging in
There were 20 new posts entered since your last login.
for example.
There is a link on a table containing these posts only.

yes, that works if you manage to login daily - however when i last logged in there were 250+ posts that I had missed
that many posted topics would be pretty stale - most would have replies already
i was simply suggesting a button to sift through and pick up recent or neglected (no replies) topics

Yes the no replies list would be helpful.
