When renaming a table in a database that is being used in a CCS-application, will it be good enough just to press Project/Synchronize to update the reference to the table-name?

materix, I can't see that it will work.

Any SQL queries you are running in your project will still be looking for the original table.

I also think that this will not work.
However, I sometimes need to do this as well, in which case I run Search and Replace on all project files to replace the previous table name with the new one. It may be best to use an external search & replace program for this. In some cases you may also need to delete the .php files from your project (except _events.php) to let CCS regenerate them.
This can be relatively pain-free process if you're experienced with CCS, but can cause problems otherwise.
Of course make sure to backup your project before doing all that.
