I would like to have a feature , which could call webservices (WSDL/SOAP) and handle the output in the same way as it would come from a database.
Calling a webservice from a link field in a grid and returning the result on a specific page, that's a feature i dream off.

We do the same but without a webservice.

Link calls an iframe that calls an ASP page
ASP page writes Javascript which then updates the parent page
parent page is then updated with the details - and no return to server is required on the main page.

Recently we have been looking at XML HTTP.request and it is a very powerful way to get communications back to the server and does not need an Iframe as such.

Being XML a webservice could be used .

Just My Views

Take care
Dave
