WARNING TO ALL!!!
Hi all
A few days ago we had one of our clients call us complaining that their application has stopped and that they could not add any records etc.
We tried everything from our offices and found it working. When we went to the clients site we were able to confirmed that they were having issues.
After looking at the source of one of our pages viewed on the browser I discovered that there was some extra code within it. One was a group os JS calls and the other was to a internal CGI application.
Norton and ZoneAlarm will now modify your HTML pages when they are being uploaded to the browser. Some of the issues you wil find is Hidden Fields being zeroed out, Pop-up windows within your application not becoming visible etc.
My best advice is that if your clients use one of these products "TURN IT OFF" before working with one of your applications.
I agree that Internet security is a good thing esp with virus's, spam, and unwanted ad's. But when it breaks correctly written code for no reason.. Then its just not worth it.
Take Care All
Dave
