I have created a email facility and part of the code is:

$message = "New Article Submitted "."\n"."\n" .$news->item->GetText();

Can anyone offer the correct syntax to make the text "New Article Submitted" appear as bold text in the email?

Many thanks

Your email body will always have a formatting type.

When setting it to pure text you can use something like
NEW ARCTICLE ... or
*New Arcticle Submitted* only.

When you set the type to HTML for example you can use all the HTML tags to format your mail body.

You need to specify in the mail header that the content is html encoded.

$headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n";
$headers .= "Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\r\n";
$headers .= "From: $email\r\nReply-To: $email\r\n";

mail($recipient, $subject, $content, $headers);
