I spent the better part of a day trying out various PHP debuggers that run
under windows. They look quite capable and have nice GUI screens, but
none of them have breakpoints that work and they crash a lot.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a PHP debugger that they know works
well in Windows? TIA

Apparently PHPEd is a good product, from NuSphere. It, of course, isn't free. I'm going to try it out this weekend, so I'll let you know how it goes.

I was at the website www.phpide.de yesterday and it mentioned PHPCoder
(another debugger) has been changed to "Maguma Studio" and that was the
debugger I've been trying to get working. It is quite an impressive
debugger, but for some reason, maybe it's my machine, it keeps crashing.
Has anyone else tried "Maguma Studio"? It's free and available from http://www.maguma.com/english/product_studiodownload.php
I will try PHPCoder tomorrow to see how stable it is. It would certainly
be a timer saver if one of these debuggers actually works. It would make
up for all the time I've lost evaluating debuggers! :)

Binbin,
Have you succcessfully used PHP Coder Pro? I'm trying to get it to work
on a Win2k machine to no avail. I've created a project, but when I try and run
it by pressing the blue "Run script in PHP interpreter.." button, it pauses
for 2 seconds, then does nothing. No browser window opens up. The PHP.ini file
has been modified to allow debugging. I also noticed the help tree will display
all of the help topics for HTML and PHP and MySQL, but clicking on the help
hyperlink node does not display any help. It too does nothing.
Do you have any idea why the browser window or html help window is not
opening up? TIA

Did you have a chance to try out PHPED? Is it worth the $300?

You may give Komodo a try - for me it's not bad in 1.2.
