Hi,
just wondering if anyone has built CC application with integrated in-browser web editor (for HTML text and memo fields) so that users can update the HTML content via MS Word like interface - using a product like editwebpro from http://www.ektron.com.
Thanks

Brian,
there were some threads on this forum about the WYSIWIG editor implementation. You may refer to them: http://www.gotocode.com/disc_viewt.asp?mid=2661 http://www.gotocode.com/disc_viewt.asp?mid=2844 http://www.gotocode.com/disc_viewt.asp?mid=4265

I also have the editor but do not see how to implement it.
Can you give an example how did you incorporate it in the CC?

Okay, I got that guy's wysiwyg tool. Integration is not exactly that intuitive. Anyone ever do this? Anyone want a copy of the source so that they can integrate it into one of the solutions here? BTW: That doesn't appear to be a violation of the license, according to their website.

I have used the Java Editor 'Edit-on Pro', from RealObjects in Germany, with great success. It works on any browser on any platform, and is fairly user-configurable. It has WYSIWYG and also the option to edit the raw HTML if desired. It blends into any CC/CCS generated webpage without problems.
The downside is that is has some loading time in other browsers than IE, and the licenses are quite expensive compared to the free ActiveX alternatives out there. Nevertheless, I recommend this editor to anyone who needs a cross-platform editor. It works very well.

I looked into that option. It is good, but the price is prohibitive for redistribution, and besides, I'm just playing around... but if I do happen to do something spectacular, then great.
Overall, there are many editors. The one from Yusef is pretty simple to figure out, if you have some patience and you're willing to make mistakes. Documentation is poor, and examples aren't that great -- despite claims.
There is also a free version of this stuff out there: Rich Text Editor, and comes with a GNU license. http://richtext.sourceforge.net/
Lots of options, but when it all comes down to it, there's no easy way to integrate these scripts -- my experience, anyways.

richtext.sourceforge.net the best wysiwyg html editor (free) using javascript ONLY.
It can be added in CCS as an extension using the datepicker way.
does not care if site is PHP,ASP,CF or whatever

I too followed the threads of this forum regarding the issues of applying a WYSIWYG editor into a CCS page.
After reviewing a number of the editors I agreed with an number of others in this forum that the editor available at richtext.sourceforge.net is a very good one.
The issue was; how to integrate it. And just as importantly, how to do it in such a fashion that it was not difficult, was an elegant solution and worked without any problems.
Others may later have a better or easier solution ('the date picker' way as mentioned...) but this one appears to work satisfactorily for me.
The method that I have used works very well, integrates easily and doesn't actually require more than a few lines of code.... in a couple of strategic events.
Those wishing to install the richtext.sourceforge.net editor into a CodeCharge Studio Application can send me an email. Please place the following in the subject line.

I got the WYSIWYG tutorial fromadmin@dataobjx.com.
At first, they sent out what appeared to be a rough draft of the instructions but later followed up with much better documentation with a more orderly approach.
Thank you DataObjx
