Hi all,
I am hoping to get some good and honest feedback. I am looking for RAD development tool to use on our companies website. I hoping some of you can give me what you like dislike on CSS versus either dbqwikstie and/or aspmaker. I am currently using aspmaker 4.1 and like it but it looks looks like CSS can provide me with more functionality. Any replies/info would be greatly appreciated.

First question will be which Technology you want to use (seems like ASP) and
which backend.

With ASPmaker I am currently using Access backend and ASP front end.
However have access to SQL 2000, MYSLQ, PHP, CGI, ASP, ASP.net all running on server 2003 with IIS 6.0. I fell into our web admin position and doing a lot of learning. I want something that will be a valuable tool that will not put me in over my head and never use. I have been pretty happy with ASPMaker, but looking for some added flexibility and performance. Sorry if that is too wordy.

Nope. If you want access to all those technologies, then CodeCharge is your
best bet. What do you want to know specifically? You can download the full
product for a 30 day trial. I recomend you go thru the tutorial.
CodeCharge can produce results rapidly but then you need to get your hand
dirty to when customizing the app.

One question I have is can you create reports directly in CSS. Not just views but reports too. Also one aspect I like in ASPMaker is I can Server Map Path to connect to Access instead of ODBC. Can I do both CSS?
I would like the flexibility to moving an application to a new server with the greatest ease of use.
I did download the trial and played with it a bit, but found it a little much for me at the time. However that was about 2 months ago, and on very limited time. I now have projects coming up, and have been given some $ for tool that will help me in the development process. CSS is one of the pricier RAD's I am looking at, but reveiws I have read are either hate it (too hard to learn) or love it. Nothing sort of down the middle.

I'm not sure about the Access question but I believe it should be possible.
Version 3.0 has a report builder. Have not used it.
Expensive? you should try :)
CCS has 2 faces, is easy to get a page or 2 up & running quickly, then if
you want to go beyond, then it gets a bit hard but nothing that you could
not learn.

Bill,
CCS allows you to build custom connection strings, you can use server map path in it. Predefined ODBC connection is a sample only.
