lock Memo field for editing

I want the user to be able to read a memo field using its scroll bar if necessary but not to be able to edit the contents. Making it a label brings it all the way across the screen. Any ideas for ASP?

It's not ASP , it html. Surround label with <div> tag ,
set width and height attributes and make it's area scrollable.
