The CHM file I downloaded from this page

is broken. the built-in browser keeps returning a page not found error for ALL the pages in the manual that I tried.

This CHM works OK for me. Are you able to view other CHM files on your computer?

Yeah, I use CHMs heavily (including MSDN).

I right clicked on the page after launching and selected properties. Here is the URL:
res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/navcancl.htm#mk:@MSITStore:I:\Integrated%20Development%20Environments\Code%20Charge%20Studio\ccs.chm::/CCSWelcome.html

So I then decided to copy it to c: drive
and now it works. Must be a bug in the CHM browser. Doesn't like that URL.

I tried copying a different CHM file to that location, and then it stopped working too.

Oh well. Go figure :/

OK. I was afraid that your Windows broke down :-)
And in fact it looks like you may have a virus. Your URL contains "navcancl.htm" and searching for it on Google leads to this Symantec trojan/virus description page:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data....errhijack.html

DOH!

Thanks for the heads-up.

This is my work machine and it is 3 years old :-(
Bearly enough CPU cycles to run my servers let alone virus protection :(

Although after reading the page, it does seem i have been spared the redirects (to adult content). None the less, I will run a full scan anyway.

CHMs and testing are about the only times I use IE anyway. I find firefox to be an excellent tool for developing web apps. Particularly with some of it's extensions.

Hi,

I have had the same issue, what I found though was that the problem is related to a security update from Microsoft. If you try to open the chm file from a network location such as mapped drive it fails to load the pages. If you copy the same file to your local drive, then open it, it displays the pages properly.
