I would like to see each field property (form & grids) have a security level
field that would prevent the user from seeing or editing the field if their
security clearance is not high enough.
Name: Employee_Salary
Visible Security Level: 2
Edit Security Level: 3
What this means is, for the Employee_Salary field, only users with a security
level of 2 or more will see the field otherwise the field is invisible (not shown
on the form/grid). If the user has security level 3, then they can edit the field. So
the field shows up as a text box with security level>=3, and a label if
security level=2, and invisible otherwise.
If the develper doesn't want this field to have any special security handling,
then it defaults to -1.
What do you think?

Nicole,
Thanks for pointing that out.
>>As you know non updateable fields like Label or URL
aren't included into generated SQL statement. So in
addition create Custom Action event and modify SQL
query for insert action in order to include mentioned
field into it.<<
It may be ok to try this for one or two fields, but it is not practical for
a large number of forms or grids. The intelligence needs to be put into the
CC templates. It would be sooo much easier if a couple of check boxes controlled
whether the field is visible or editable depending on the security level.

I agree with Brent, it's something I've hoped for in a release someday. The checkbox would be great linked to a security level.
Also a checkbox in field properties to allow/disallow field sort in a grid would be useful.
