I have gotten used to having to insert a confirmation of succesful insert / update / delete by attaching an event to modify the URL so that a 'success' message can be displayed. I know that the usual way of confirmation is to just to redirect to a 'thank you page', but more often these days (especially because of .net) the confirmation message is put on the same page as the form itself. This is more efficient and leeds to less clutter.
It would be a great addition to CCS if it generated these by itself (as an option) ie the properties of a record were expanded to include 'insert success variable name' 'update success variable name' and 'deletion success variable name' . If these variable names are specified then CCS adds them to the URL before the redirect if the appropriate action succeeded. There would also be a new action for labels that would look for these variables in the URL and displayed the appropiate message.
This allows the confirmation message to be easily placed on the same page as the form.
Hope that makes sense - it's been a long day!
Darren
