CCS 3.0 has suddenly become very slow. Impossible to use. The IDE is very slow and also the build publish process. I have already reported the fact to support almost a week ago. I am still waiting for an answer. I am only posting here to find if there are others with the same problem.

Yes, there are a few others with the same problem.
What difference does this make?

It could be something with my computer or my setup.
If it is sometihing more general I will hope that yes software will be able to aptly handle the problem as it has done so many times in the past.
The way this problem affects my computer I am not able to use CCS 3 at all.

This issue is being investigated but it doesn't happen too often (less than 1% of computers), therefore it could be something with your computer/drivers/configuration.

Hi,
The difference is that if it takes support a long time to answer and a lot of other users suffer this problem, than it is a big problem. However, if you are the only one, then you should look at your configuration first. Bottom line: the more info, the sooner resolved...

Sorry, but I found answer "wrong side of the bed"

I must respectfully disagree. Have CCS installed on 2 different computers. 1 is an AMD 64 desktop with WinXp Pro and the other is a laptop with an Intel M processor. I get the exact same problem with both.
The odds of both these machines being the problem is very slim indeed.
I hope you can reolve this problem. I love CCS, but it's currently almost useless to me right now and in order to compete my project on time I may have to reluctantly switch to a competitor's product.

cbs,
I just provided information about the frequency of this issue based on our experience. There is nothing to disagree
It is a very rare problem, which could be related to some 3-rd party software, a Windows component, an ODBC driver, ODBC configuration, something related to the CCS project, etc. - and it should be fixable in all cases.
Since you experienced such issue on 2 computers then that's so much better for us - this can really help us find the exact component that is causing this problem on both your computers. Thus I recommend stressing this to the support.
Thank you.

Ok - I did sent the issue to support back when you suggested it. I'm still waiting for the response, albeit rather desperately since this sudden problem comes at a bad time.

it could be an antivirus that scans the codecharge scriptS?...i suggest u all to write a list of programs u are using at the same time...if we find the same program in several users with slow ccs3....bingo!!

I've noticing some slowdown with CCS3 but these are my observations.
I left a project open on my desktop for about 3 hours. Using Task manager I notives that every second CCS3 took about 3k of memory. When it got to about 320k the computer was unusuable.
I minimised the application to the task bar and the memory usage dropped from 320k down to 6k. But the count up started immediately regarless of what CCS3 was doing.
Expanding and Minimising seems to keep the memory usage under control but it is still a worrying trend as I will often be coding all day and its something that I will have at the forefront of my desktop
Maybe this can help someone until a better solutions comes along
Take Care
Dave

With CCS V3 I noticed it ate up the virtual memory after a few hours of usage I am not a Windows guru so I can't tell what services use up my system memory. My PC has 512MB RAM the only applications running are CCS V3 and McAfee anti-virus. I have to reboot the PC when the low in virtual memory message started to pop up.
I have no problem with CCS V2.3 running on the same machine.

I decided that I could not wait as I had to proc«eed and reformatted my notebook and reinstalled everything from scratch.
To my surprise the problem remains.
I installed win XP pro with sp2.
Updated everything. Then I installed firenbird, IBphoenix firebird odbc driver, winzip, snagit and then codecharge. Nothing else.
No antivirus or anti spyware.
I suspect something connected to windows updates or net framework

All,
The slowdown ater a few hours of work (memory leak) is a different problem than CCS being slow as soon as it is launched. The memory leaks are being analyzed and resolved as a separate task.
The main slowness itself could also be caused by different reasons.
For example it turned out that one customer had very slow CCS because his ODBC logging/tracing was enabled, therefore Windows was performing heavy disk operations during every database call done during table and field retrieval in CCS.
Another person in this thread (cbs) just resolved his problem through a patch that the support have sent him. But the same patch doesn't work for andrefogelman.
These are just examples that each person can have a similar problem due to different reasons. This discussion also went off-topic into different problems and different reasons for them, therefore I strongly believe that the support should analyze each problem separately.
I am closing this thread to prevent further confusion.
