I am having some trouble while updating a database with text in portuguese. I have already changed the locale identifier, the site locales and all of the item in the section "locales & encodings" but it doesnīt seem to work. Any idea of the problem? Could I solve it directly in code?

Thanks.

Thatīs the problem...ah donīt receive any error messages, but when I insert the contents in the text area the contents lose some latin characters (į, é, ó, á). I tried to change some settings in the "locales & encodings" but that isnīt changing things.

If you have found the problem then let me know. i have a java script menu that loses the same characters and is adding questionmarks and so on. I have to get the site up and am at a loss. Thanks.
