I tried to run the Demo Version of this on Windows Vista Beta Build 5308. After install I try to load the program and It gets to the part where it says loading Multiligual Support and Vista says a Problem has accurred and the program has been closed.

Are there any MS Beta Tersters that have gotten this to work on Vista?

Thanks

OK I finally purchased CCS3 and it runs great on XP but it still does not work on Vista. I Can't believe out of all the people on here that I am the ONLY Vista Beta Tester.
No replies.... Nothing. :(

The Vista Beta testing is only available to special "techies" msdn-members
and the likes.
Above and beyond only in English.
Latest Vista Beta I saw was looking nice but functionaly not complete.
If I was to test anything on Vista it would be MS stuff, did you try any of
their products on it yet. %-)

It is to preliminary for me.

I have installed and Tested most of MS's Desktop software. The only issue I have come across was with Outlook 2003 but they have it fixed in the latest build 5308 which according to MS is Feature complete and now it is concentrating on bugs.

I have been a beta tester for MS for over 10yrs and as a beta tester we bug ALL application compatibility issues. You would be amazed at what gets broke from one OS version to the next.

I do not belong to MSDN I was nominated as a Beta tester by a friend and have been a Tester ever since.

I would think as a software developer, YesSoftware would spring for the MSDN subscription just to test their software on new OS's to check for compatiblity.

Hey Guys (YesSoftware), Just an FYI... Vista is scheduled to go RTM in November.

The Vista Beta was released by Microsoft so that they can fix their issues and improve their product. What will happen if they will fix some of their problems in a month, or if they will make product changes, or if they will cause new problems. Should all other companies change their software every time Microsoft burps? :-)

Seriously, Microsoft's goal is to make Vista compatible with all prior Windows products. Otherwise they would release Linux Vista and ask everyone to fix their Windows products to work on Linux :-)

And we definitely do not plan on supporting any Beta products until they support themselves.

However, Microsoft is our partner and contacted us asking for several test CCS licenses so that they can use it in their test environment to assure that their future Windows updates don't break existing software products. From your post it looks like this it not going too well on their part. Since you are officially Beta testing Windows Vista then could you please bring to their attention that their product doesn't work properly and requires fixing. I believe that this is what they expect from Beta testers and such information would be helpful to them. Give them necessary information to fix Vista. CCS is a good test case for MS to assure that thousands of other software companies won't need to deal with similar issues or convert their products to Linux :-)

And thanks for taking the initative. If more people like you will report problems to MS then it will help them improve their product quality, which is currently one of their most important goals.

YES! I have seen it time and time again. MS updates something... Example XP SP2 and other companies have to make Patches to make thier product compatible.
In case you didn't know it MS owns the Majority of the Desktop OS Market. :-P

They do try to make things compatible but in my years of testing i have seen a lot of software developers come out with Patches or upgrades to become compatible with Microsoft.

I'm sure you didn't write CCS and then send it to MS and say "Here, Make sure it works with Windows XP"
No, I'm sure it was done the other way around. You wrote CCS to be compitable with Windows right???
As technology moves forward and OS's change so must the Software that is installed on them. So YesSoftware needs to keep up with the changes.

I didn't feel that your initial question applied to myself, therefore didn't respond. I participate in user forums volunatrily in user capacity, as well as an insider of sort.

YesSoftware is committed to improving quality just like most software companies are.
However, some other software companies are no longer in business, decreased in size, or simply not too quick to update their products. Even many reputable companies release new software versions every 1-2 years. Many people also use MS Office 2000, QuickBooks 2003, etc., which may not be updated at all anymore.
Microsoft knows this and cannot afford taking a risk of aggreviating millions of people by disabling software products that they purchased and use every day, whether newer or older. And supposedly Microsoft wants everyone to upgrade to Vista.
Give MS a chance to make Vista as good as they can make it, then we can look into making potential adjustments on our end. We do not plan to make patches for each Beta release, and shouldn't have to.

Anyway, do not worry. Everthing will be alright with both Vista and CCS :-)

Thanks for reponding and I'm sure Vista will begin to shape up once it hits Beta 2 Status. Hopefully they will have more kinks worked out and CCS will become compatible.

Thanks
Steve
