I must say that although CC3 has more capabilities it is not as stable as the old CCS2 - in CCS2 I hardly had bugs while in CCS3 I have bugs in things that works fine in CCS2 - probably it will take some time to mature however and this is the point:
In order for CCS3 to mature we need to submit bug reports to support, but support wants you to pay 140$/Year for being a beta tester:
You will send them bug reports
They send you patches
You test patches and resubmit Sid effects etc....
I think paying for support is fine as long as the support is the How do I do this or that....
But when I submit detailed bug report, create dummy projects to reproduce the bugs while I am working on tight schedule and asking me for pay for this? Some what bold no?
And one more point If I use Non-perpetual why should I pay for support?
And the last point
CCS2 was good and CCS3 looked promising, but as it turned out CCS3 is useful for simple projects – yes I am somewhat disappointment

I'm have the same problem. A tight schedule etc.
I got a blasting for my comments about bugs this week. I did however wear my heart on my sleeve somewhat.
I made note of some of the problems I have been experiencing. Here's the thread: http://forums.codecharge.com/posts.php?post_id=72799
I was not a CCS2 user so I can't draw comparison. If you have a sec. would you please be kind enough to review and comment?
I understand your feelings with paid support. I'm going to pay for the support anyway because in the overall scheme of things $140 is worth the action it will generate, and I understand and appreciate that YesSoftware is not a charity.
Yes, maybe they have made some mistakes in the code for CCS3, and there is a valid arguement that these sorts of issues should be outside of what is considered paid support.
On the other side of this arguement; The software is great value for money and the yes software team need to survive.
Cheers

Ian Harrison Hi,
YesSoftware is not a charity, However I am not a charity either - why pay to be a beta tester? Hey I am not in 30 days evaluation I am a customer that pays for a license
When I started to use CCS I did need support for help in doing things the right way. However today after more then 2 years I know the CCS way to do things, Hey I even wrote some custom Actions.
They should reconsider the policy of support regarding bug reports -
If user provides good detailed bug report just solve it
This is what I does with my clients

You don't need to pay for support to submit bugs.

Maybe - I'll keep submiting...
I will simply ignore the polite requests for paying that I get after submiting.

Any software product will have bugs. Microsoft, which has billions to spend is constantly behind schedule and delivers software with bugs. Even with bugs, Yes Software provides support that gives you a work around or a fix or shows you the error in your programming. I for one think $140 for support is a bargain. This product is by far the "best of breed" and will only get better if we continue to support it.

Roeya,
what about some facts?
When I'm upset, my imagination can double and triple the real problem.
When I calm down, the problem ends up to 2-3 annoying bugs.
So, back to the question - what is your complain?

I think I understand roeya.
A while before a new to me supporter gave me the feeling that I should stop posting bugs when not having a support contract.
This was my answer
Quote :
I understand that I will get no support in getting patches for example or even an answer/workaround to a problem.
But what I think should always be possible is to post bugs and that they will be checked by YesSoftware. Even if they will not give any feedback.
But I expect when it is verified to be a bug Yes tries to correct as many as possible known bugs with any next update.
With all other supporters I experienced not any trouble and being very thankful for having them. I have to say they helped me even when they were not forced to do so.
