Learn what mod_rewrite is and learn how to use it accordingly. Has
everything to do with Apache and nothing to do with CCS and PHP.

Here's a book to get you going:

Thanks for your great answer, but its useless, and I don't need your book as I know what mod_rewrite is.
Just need to know how we can implement it in CCS to produce friendly URLīs in the generated code.
Thanks anyway,
Ed,

You may know 'what' it is, but apparently you don't know 'how' to use it.
Read the book twice and I'm certain it'll enlighten you. G'luck.

If you don't know the answer , can I suggest just NOT to answer !

I KNOW how to use mod_rewrite , I KNOW how to write the correct .htaccess file AND have this working.
What I don't know is , and what my question is , is HOW let CCS write the friendly URLīs (urlīs without the ? sign).
Don't keep telling me that this has nothing to do with CCS.
I am not the only one looking for this : http://forums.codecharge.com/posts.php?post_id=51467

If you are the smart guy around , why you don't just give the solution ?

Thanks again,
Ed,

You did not mention which language you use, but you can take a look under
the hood in the Common file (such as common.php). Look for CCAddParam. I
believe this is he only function you will have to modify.
You may also need to modify CCRemoveParam

If this does not do it, then you may also need to look in classes (such as
classes.php) and see what other methods they are using to generate the query
strings.

It always helps to take a look under the hood to see what is going on. You
will find that if you study the base classes and functios you will discover
ways of accomplishing things which you never imagined.

Hi Benjamin -- good tip :-)
Using PHP like I mentioned in my first post.
Already got some good results by rewriting the links in grids with a "before show row" event and am getting links now like ...page123.htm , which than are back converted by my .htacces file to page.php?item=123 so partly this is ok and works fine, BUT some links on my pages like the ones to go to the next page in the grid and sorting, obviously still have the old format.
So I am going to dig a bit deeper in what you are suggesting as time comes available.
Really hope YES will build this in one day as some clients are asking for this to get all their pages grabbed by search engines.
Thanks for the tip ..

I think rule number one in asking for (free) help is to not get snotty if
the answer isn't what you expected. Rule number two is the answers can only
be as good as the questions allow.

Besides that, this particular forum is for submitted wishes to the folks
that brought us CCS, not 'how to' questions.

Yet another great help .... :-) :-) Thanks !!
Besides that , since the question is in the "wishes" forum , you should see it as a wish that YES implements a way to rewrite links in his generated code.
Really don't see a reason why people should expect answers like "read a book" , but than again, that's probably what makes us different , isīnt it ? Never mind :-) :-)
