So I tracked down my Visual Source Safe 6.0 (VSS) from my Microsoft MSDN Universal subscription, on disk two, and installed it. So far no problems, I have Visual Studio 2005 installed but it is the standard version without VSS 2005. interesting fact, Visual Studio 2005 works with VSS 6.0  .
I setup a project and added source control then built two pages, one page based on a customer table in MySQL and one in Postgresql. I saved the published pages then closed the project and everything appeared to work. I set tools/options/soucecontrol Check files in when closing the project then closed the project, when I opened the project the files were still checked out.... Check files in when closing the project is the only check box active.
I did find I could right mouse click on the project name in project explorer and check everything in/out.
If anyone figures out the automatic check in/out let me know 
Time to play with the workspace slots, I RTM and now know how to create a real work space on my three monitor system....

The RTM an workspace part interests me too.
Where did you find the M pages while R iT?
I have been wondering about the workspace options, but daily bussiness kept
me from exploring, so Kangus kick me off!
