Dear fellow web developers

I am designing a web app using c#.NET with sql server 2005. I have read pros and cons of using stored procedures. Some have even suggested with .Net its better to use assemblies. I understand that stored procedures typically are more secure but make DAL transactions busier while assemblies keep server busy.

Some of the app requires standalone on client then auto synchronisation. Want conceptual integrity for much of the code.

Which way should I go?
Thankyou for your help
