I just can''t believe it - the intelligent HTML editor just deleted hours of work - and yes I clicked save before I realized that the thing deleted just about everything on my page - I hate the editor - it doesn't work - please remove it or give us the option to swicth it off

Under Tools | Options | General you have to specify your HTML editor of choice.
In Project Explorer right click the file and choose Open Externally.
It's not really streamline but it works.
