Hi,

After I bring files (employee pectures) to my server with the file upload control, I can find the files in the directory as expected, BUT, the I cant NOT access the files with a browser because off security settings.

The directory shows read permissions for the Iuser machine account, and I indeed can access all files I put there EXCEPT the files I put there by the upload control. These files are only accessible by the asp.net account. So I am not allowed to see the files with a browser.

Am I the only one with this problem? Am I missing something? Or is this a Bug?

Help would be very much appriciated.

Thanks Dik

Dik,
Looks like your IIS doesn't have permissions to access files created by .NET (ASPNET account). Go to IIS manager> directory properties> Directory Security tab > Edit Button. Then in the first textbox change IUSR_<machine name> account to ASPNET account.

Hi Peter,

That solved the problem. Thanks a lot!
It is a pity that asp account is not the default.
I will need to explain this change to customers.
Fortunately it is very easy to do.

I appreciate your help very much,

Best regards, dik
