Ok, to start, im new to the forum, so im not sure this is where this belongs.
To start, i have done html pages for days, but i have a project of my own that i have decided would be easier on me if i went with a database instead of hard coding hundreds of pages. Been looking around at all kinds of software, to help make building them easier, and so far this seems like one i really want to consider. But is it really what i want.
So, i need to be able to create a web database. I want to be able to basicaly convert the html page that is designed into php. Then i want to add a search function to search a database. This database will have around 22 datafields in it with up to 8 jpg files.
The search will need 6 drop down fields to use for the search. It will need to generate a page that will be basically be tables with text and 1 image. There will need to be roughly 10 to 15 of these table per page, that i can have open a new window when clicked.
This new window will present all the information from that entry in the database.
Now, i am considering trying to just hire someone to make this database, but i would much rather build it myself that way i can modify it, and the prices i have been getting are outragous. So if anyone here can tell me if this is the software for me, please let me know.
Oh, i would be buying the full version, not the personal.

Hi,
well its not point and click like MicroCludge Frontpage, there is a bit of a learning curve. However if you use the evaluation, work through the examples and design what you want on paper first you should soon know if it is for you.
It really is an incredibly flexible system and you will find good support fom most other users here. Ther are a few humourless characters but you get them everywhere!.
Looking at what you have described for your proposed site I would be surprised if CCS was not right for the job.
All the best and enjoy,
Tony

If you are reasonably bright and willing to go through the tutorials (at least a lot of them) and can put in 8 hours a day you could probably learn this product well enough to build what you want in about a week.
This site sounds close to what you want without the searching (which is fairly trivial with CodeCharge Studio) and I put it together in less than a day:

Good luck.

L, my version of your good statement:
"
could probably learn this product in a week well enough to build what you want in about a day.

You are both right. What I forgot to say is that at the end of the week, a by product of your learning exercise would be a finished product !

This product is easy to use once you have your website well laid out I found it easier working on actual projects than checking to see what the program can do. A word of caution, when you do your first app, your guru php or other developer friends might be dis-appointed that a newbie like you can do what they have invested all their years learning in a matter of hours. But that shouold not set you back, for in a matter of dayes, they will join you too.
