I've built an aution site and was wondering what would be the best way to trigger the "you have won/you have lost" notification email.

Obvioulsy this has to happen in the background.

I currently have a page that manages the process by checking for date/time expiry and runs scripts accordingly, but the page has to be open. Is there a better way?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Tony

You may have to setup some cronned script for this, maybe every 1 second.
