In IE menu extra internet options, switch on IE Should check if it is the
default browser.
In FF somewhere almost the same name switch.
Choose one and set it to check, then start it up and on the question if you
want it to be the default browser answer YES.
Close the browser, do your livepage in CCS.
That's it.

I've got the same problem here.
Yesterday, when I tried my new CCS 3.0. I created a project and publish the site. It works and open the Firefox browser instead of IE. I found no way to set the default browser to IE from CSS.
So, I've uninstalled Filefox, then when I try CSS 3.0 and open a page to preview. I supose this will open IE browser. But nothing be shown. But if I click the Live Page tab, the page can display properly.
Strange? Please help

CCS does not have this switch.
It is in InternetExplorer, (English:) Topmenu "Extra"->Internet Options
Tab: Programs
Bottom of the page is a check box, check it.
Close IE.
Open IE and answer Yes to the dialog that appears.
IE will respond as default browser to all request also the CCS ones.

That is bad for you, the problem must lie somewhere else then.
I can reproduce your problem here, I just need to tell IE that it is NOT the default browser.
I also tell Firefox it is NOT the default browser, so in effect I have NO default browser.
Now SHIFT+F10 and CTRL+SHIFT+F10 will give NO result because CCS starts up the default browser and XP has none.
Doing the earlier described action, nicely restore everything.
Are you experimenting with IE7? Vista?

I recommend contacting the product support with any technical issues. I just see no reason to try guessing various causes of a problem instead of getting it resolved.
