Hello,

Re: IE7 compatibility

Please re-download CCS 3.1 Preview from http://www.yessoftware.com/download/files/CCStudio3_1.exe to update it to version 3.0.99.75 which now should be compatible with MS IE7. We may announce this version as a temporary patch if several customers could confirm that you're not experiencing problems.
There are no additional changes planned for 3.1, however, this version is still undergoing testing under Windows Vista, and IDE being translated to several supported languages.

Thank you.

Peter,

Not wanting to appear too impatient, but can you suggest when v3.1 will be released in its final form?

I'm reluctant to install the beta version(s) and upset ongoing projects, but I am looking forward to some of the new features.

BTW, each day I appreciate even more the power and genius of CCS. It is, by far, my favourite development app and I have pretty much tried/bought them all over the past two decades. The support is great and I recommend this product relentlessly -- even though I consider it my secret weapon :) .

Keep up the great work!

Thank you for your comments M. Currently I recommend using the updated version 3.1 mentioned above. It has not been released yet mainly due to organizational tasks (translations to other languages than English) and couple things are being rewritten for Windows Vista. However, the above version should be already 100% usable (not a Beta) and won't change much in the official release. It is also compatible with IE7 based on our current tests (I'm also using it with IE7). Sorry for delays though.

To confirm, I have been using the 3.1 preview in production for a few weeks now with no issues at all, not even needing the registry fix earlier in this post.

And very happy for the delay for compatibility with Vista - please take your time and keep up the great support.

The 3.1 release is finally scheduled for Friday this week. Probably only without all Vista-related fixes (it worked with Vista RC1 but now doesn't again with the new RC2). We see now that Vista release candidates are not necessarily representing the final product.

How safe will it be to open/publish current V3 projects.

I always have problems with upgrades and I have various versions of CCS (and CC from 5 years ago), so that I can maintain all my projects. Getting a bit tired of using different machines for the various tweaks my clients want, and it takes longer.

I'm not using the latest version of 3, which I was told to by support, cos it messed up loads of custom javascript. So rather than do it again I live with the minor issues.

CCS is a great tool it makes an fool like me think he can code, but upgrades seem to be a duel edged sword.

Hi all,

In preparation for tomorrow's 3.1 release we have already updated the 3.1 preview version to the one that most likely will be released (3.1.0.1):
http://www.yessoftware.com/download/files/CCStudio3_1.exe

This version is currently undergoing automated testing and if no major issues are found it will be officially released tomorrow (Friday). However, if anyone likes to give it an early shot and check if it doesn't just blow, here it is already.

No major changes were made since the previous version 3.0.99.75 except:
- fixing a crash under Windows 2000 with IE 5.5
- updating IDE translations
- improving Vista compatibility (CCS 3.1 launches under Vista now but some database operations still don't work)
