Does anyone have a clue why the search form is able to perform well with a text box in the bookstore sample application (like you type ASP in a text box and all books with ASP in the title are listed) and it simply ignores the text box criteria in the task manager sample application????

I've spent half the afternoon trying to figure out any differences or if I'm doing something wrong but can't seem to find an answer.

(I have done quite some customisation of the task manager application at http://www.micro.com.do/servicios and all I need now is to be able to perform a free text search on the task description).

Hi Carlos,

Did you make sure that in the Grid you send the search to, the field properties for the field you are doing the free text search on are set correct? You need to check the input tab in Form Properties and set the operation for the "search" field to "Like '% ... %'" in the pull-down menu. This determines how the search string is handled in the "results" form.

Hope this helps,

Erik
