Hello,
I have a complex visual query working nicely in one form.
I now want to base other forms on the same query.
Is it possible to copy the query from one form to another? I can convert the query to SQL mode, but then I lose some or all of the magic bits.
Many thanks,
Monu

Create a new page.
From the old page copy the form to the new page.
OR
Copy the original page to a new name and edit the new.
Or even nicer make the Form includable and include it in as much pages as needed.

Thanks wkempees,
Those are good tips.
However, I would still like to be able to copy the diagram from the Visual Query Builder of one form to the VQB of another. Copying the SQL works, but ...
1) requires me to recreate the parameters in the new form
2) loses the ability to navigate the tables and joins viusally.
I'd still like to hear if that is possible.
Thanks again for the tips above.
Regards,
Monu

This cannot be done visually, but you can try copying appropriate XML sections directly from the .ccp files (PageName.ccp). Search for:
dataSource
<TableParameters>
<JoinTables>
<JoinLinks>
<Fields>
Theoretically you could also create some utility for this if you know how to work with XML.

Thanks Peter,
I noticed that this might be possible but was intimidated by the apparent need to keep track of the "id" numbers assigned to each element.
I'll try it tho.
Thanks again.
