Hi All,
I am an experienced MS Access database programmer, and also run a website using FrontPage. My site current resides on a UNIX based server, but that could be changed of course.
I want to create a new section of my website that would be membership area with many database driven aspects. It would have many unique functionalities (i.e. not just a typical forum or anything else I might get off the shelf).
Is one way to proceed to design a database that does what I want in Access, then use CCS to create web pages that would act like the "forms" to access the data? What about creating Forms in Access, will that be a waste of time, or does CCS actually create web pages based on the forms I have created? Is it the same idea for Queries?
If I am on the right track, any advice in terms of if I should aim to have my final application in PHP or ASP? If I use PHP because that would jive with my current host, do I have to export my Access data tables into mySQL? Is that easy?
Sorry for all the questions but I am a bit lost, and if anyone could help me it would be much appreciated. This project has been running around in my mind for a couple of years, and not knowing how to start has me pretty much stuck.
Thanks much!

Yes viable option, all CCS examples work this way.
>What about creating Forms in Access, will that be a waste of time
Yes if your target is a Web Based application you do not need Access forms.
> or does CCS actually create web pages based on the forms I have created?
CCS will afaik not create pages based on AccesForms it will however create
pages based on the tables (Access or any other DB)
In case of Access CCS will respect key relationships based on naming
convention and create forms accordingly.

Partly yes

I think that choice should be based on Hosting capabilities and programmers
skills and preferences.
Also cost might be an issue.

it is a 5 second process using tools like Navicat (just an example)
Create database-> name it.
Import Wizard, import from MSAccess, click Next, set optional options, click
Start, and see it being created.
