Are there any tutorial or example about a Reservation or Booking project via web (PHP, MySQL), with:

1.- a calendar (Day, week, or monthly views) per item showing the availability of items: classes, rooms, etc and

2.- some kind of shoping cart to reserve the item(s) for specific dates/hours and to receive deposits, with notification via email?

Thanks a lot

Hello,

1.- I need to do something simple, not an ERP. For me the complicated thing is the calendar, displaying graphically the reserved time slots in week or month views.

2.- The approval would be manually, when the owner of the site sees his bank account statement and match with the bank deposit, then he closes the reservation for his customer through a simple administration module.

I would appreciate any insight on this issue.

Thank you in advance.

This isn't something you're going to get a solution for in a few forum
posts. If you haven't 'learned' anything after a year, suggest you
reword your post and include the words "Request For Proposal" with
detailed specifications for your project along with a payment schedule.

sounds like there is no "off-the-shelf" CCS reservation system available and I doubt anyone here has time to specify and build it for you unless you have hired them to do so.

outline the system by function and identify all major blocks. then try and see which blocks you can figure out how to do in CCS. then see where you have problems and ask a specific question about that in the forum.

if you are having trouble defining the system go online and check out systems that already exist and do something like what you want. once you have defined it you are almost halfway there!

I have created a sort-of demo.
It is to show of the event-spawning solution to the basic calendar.
By chance it look slike a booking system for houses/room = objects.
Have a play with it but be advised it is NO out of the book solution.
The method is described on the intro page, and some forum members have
already sucessfuly implemented it.
A complete booking system would be possible, depending upon specs and offer
money-wise.

Hello datadoit and sorry, I posted this a year ago, and my friend did not pressured me, he was not in a hurry and he is not going to pay for that work :) so I did not pay much attention to it. But he remember it to me a few days ago.

Hi Jimmy, thank you for your ideas.

Hello wkempees, your demo is excellent, I do not know if you created only for this post, If so, you are a very kind and helpful man. Any way I thank you very much to share your demo, so now I know it is feasible do it with CCS and you provide me with a direction to go.

I see you are using CCS 3.0.2.2 is there any reason why you are not using 3.2?

Thanks to everybody for your time and ideas.
Best regards

It was built februari 2006.
That is the answer to both questions, I think.

At some point in the forums 'spawned events' were discussed.
At the same time someone needed a proof of concept for a booking system.
Hence this example (working app), the event-spawning has been used by
various forum users.
The concept booking system was good for the prospect but .....

I might even take it to CCS 4, if I can find the time and or the need.
Glad you liked it.

Walter
