Hi Chargers
I just wanted to give a big thumbs up for CodeCharge Tools. I just ordered the Dependent Listbox tool and for some reason did not get the second email with the down load info....probably our ISP's recent aggressive anti-spam "feature" that swallows good and well as bad emails in about equal proportions. I wrote an email to CCT Sale support and within 5 minutes had a personal response from Frank that included the missing information, 3 minutes after that, it was installed and 5 minutes after that a new 3 level dependent list box was in my project.

This is about as good a customer experience as I have ever had, and considering the very reasonable charge, any CCS'er who does not order these tools is missing out.

I have to agree.

The products are so seemless on how they fit with CCS3.1 - I thought Yes Software staff were moornlighting, then I found they come from Simferopol, in the Ukraine.

These guys have lifted CCS to another level.

If they have a wish list I would love a PayPal object.

Cheers

I received a message from Frank at CCT yesterday saying the AJAX version of the Dependent Listbox is being readied for release and existing owners of the tool will get the upgrade for free.

We might want to list the Wanted as both a source of ideas and to gauge the level of interest from potential buyers.

One that is being considered according to Frank is a tool to create more effective login tools. I would love to see on that included Remember Me, Logout, and Forgotten Password. I've created crude versions that work but it would be great to have a tool to make it fast and optimum.

Paypal is alreasy available, they just do not sell it yet.
If you watch the tutorials (DemoCharge I beleive) then you will see a CCT
Paypal in the toolbox.
They also have horizontalvertical menu's and MenuTree ( alhough I find that
one a bit expensive)
Go mail them!

Yes, PayPal builder can be seen in our demos, but it isn't ready yet. It's still in development process. We'll inform community when it's available.

While we are at it and giving our own wish lists there is one that I think could be a major enhancement that would sell more copies of CCS:
A shopping cart builder tool. Put me on the pre-order list for that one.

If the Dependent Listbox is gaining AJAX, another tool that would use some of same functions and classes would be the edit-in-place grid builder.
If past posts are an indicator of demand, it should be popular.

Will a perl version be provided some time soon?

I looked at the XML file of the CCT Convert To JS String and I can easily add perl version, by changing the PHP version.

If what you are missing is perl knowledge I can help with that

We've released Dependent ListBoxes with AJAX support (it's version 3.0 now). AJAX support has some limitations right now, it's only for ASP/PHP and Table (not SQL) ListBox datasources, but we plan to add ASP.NET and SQL datasources in near future.

We will also work on Perl version now and hopefully it will be available soon.

Visually it looks the same as statically loaded ListBoxes, so there will be no difference in demo. We've added new step on Dependent ListBoxes demo page:

When do you intend to release the ASP .NET version?

A few weeks ago we exchanged email and in one of the messages you wrote that the new AJAX enabled Dependent List Box would be a free upgrade for past licensees. If that is still the plan, how do we go about getting this cool tool in version 3.0?

I am sending on this forum because the answer would be of interest to many people here.
Thank you

I would like to know from where CCT get the knowledge to create plugins? If YesSoftware had released more info we would have several in not dozens of developer enhancing the product making it more useable and easy to use, which in turn will produce more sales

I would like to have ready made components like in http://softidiom.com/docs/4DSite%20Designer/4dsite_designer.html

However the above tool is Perl only and hase no easy way to do custom coding.

It's from CCS SDK. Only several CCS users have contacted us asking for help with the SDK and we're helping them. We continue waiting for "dozens of developers enhancing the product" :-)

BTW,

I just want to lets others know different experience.

My experience might be different from others.
I have problem with JAVA Menu builder bought from CCT.

After playing with it few hours, after purchsed,
I find out that include generated menu on every page is not an option for my app, because
rendering menu every time (only has 30+ items) cause additional 5 seconds on my page_load. (Unacceptable on my case)

So I decided to separate the menu on Main page which has menu and one IFRAME as a working space frame. (original app now run within IFRAME)

then I found problem on JAVA Script generated by CCT's MENU, causing menu HANG. (always shows, never hide - need to reload page again to solve)

After submit bug to them, including source, sample, captured screens (sure that enough information to look at - I am a developer too :) )
I've received response in the next day (sound good huh?) saying that they will look at it shortly.

After weeks, there is no additional message from CCT.

After spent days trying to figured out what happen,
now I was suspect that the generated script cause "Permission Denied" - by cross link to inner IFRAME to HIDE all ListBoxes. (which is so required, can't be omit this script)
and after the script get error, menu HANG will occurs.
(So called 'cross frame security' something)

Spending fews more days on tweaking generated JAVA, included MENU_COM.JS, doesn't seem to help me fix it. (I'm not JAVA Expert though, so I bought this JAVA menu builder component :)

Even adding new tag (found on Google) on every single page run inside IFRAME
<script> domain = "myurl.com" </script>

which google's say it should prevent this PermissionDenied problem occurs.
It's also not help!

Now I give up!

Its turns out that I was spending days (luckily not weeks) and $30 for nothing!
And never get a chance for 2nd mail from CCT.

Sorry I forgot to mention.

I'm not saying that CCT tools (esp. JAVAMenu builder for CCS3) is not good.

It's working as expected.

But they seem to have problem to support their product in very specific scenario like mine.
Or not plan to support at all (never get any mail back from them except the auto-response one)

I think, the solution for them is to provide a trial, 7, 15, 30 days whatever.
So that the buyer have a chance to test it with their environment, scenario.
(Mine have 2 problems, first performance concerned - then fixing performance by using IFRAME causing second problem - a dead lock. :-@ - No way out except given up)

Just my 2-cents.

Hello, Shinnapong.

First I'd like to apologize for not replying to you in time, that's completely my fault and omission. I'm really sorry for this.

As you said in your letter, problem only appeared on several machines after intensive use for 5-10 minutes (on others it was ok). We've tested your page on our machines and problem never appeared. We left that issue willing to test it on more machines and ... it just got out of our attention :(

As for initial performance problem, unfortunately you didn't mention it in initial letter. The page you sent to us takes about 0.5 seconds to load on my Athlon 2000+. If it takes 5 seconds to load on your system, there maybe some problem with browser/os configuration.

I understand your frustration and made a refund for you, but if you're still have at least some will to solve the problem, I think we could talk by e-mail and hopefully be able to find solution.

Sorry again,
Frank.

Hello CCT,

are there any plans for some kind of "Yahoo!Maps" Builder? See http://developer.yahoo.com/maps/ for their specs ;-) I just would feel better not only to depend on Google...

Thanx in advance,
Tobias
